A Very Merry and Bright Christmas to all from Yello80s!

To our fans all over the world, Yello80s wishes you a very merry, bright, safe and holy Christmas celebration in 2014. Luke 2: 9-15  NIV translation:  And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,     and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

Yello80s Christmas Eve Marathon: John Denver Rocky Mountain Christmas

Who growing up in the 70s and 80s doesn’t have warm fuzzies when you hear the name John Denver? Here’s the Rocky Mountain Christmas Special from 1975 that aired for years after. Courtesy Donald Berube

Yello80s Christmas Eve Marathon: B.C. A Christmas Special

This tv special from 1981 was based on the B.C. comic strips in the Sunday Paper which I barely remember- my family was more of a Family Circus/ Dennis the Menace/ Garfield household. This was obviously made from a VCR – oh the memories 😉 B.C. A Christmas special courtesy ytWIKILEAKS

Yello80s Christmas Eve Marathon: Kenny Loggins carols

Yello80s Christmas Eve Marathon: Food Ads

No matter where in the world you are, Christmas is a time to eat and 80s restaurants caught in the dream of ‘big is better’ hit the pavement running with some of the most memorable and creative ads to hawk everything from fried pies to fried chicken and a few healthy things inbetween (wait, I was thinking of the 90s there, sorry). Yello80s Christmas Eve Marathon: Star Wars Holiday Special

I’ve heard this is the worst Star Wars production ever made and it was only shown once in 1978 on CBS. We have here 1/2 of the special for the curious… Presenting The Star Wars Holiday Special… Parts 1/2/3 courtesy Jonas Knochelmann There are 7 parts to this special on Youtube but part 4 seems to be missing (there is a version with a bunch of juvenile commentary). If anyone has this and can upload please let me know I’d like to have the full 7 parts up for the marathon.
