80s animated soundtracks: Rise and Shine

Considered by many to be the worst of the Care Bears movies in the 80s, The Care Bears’ Adventure in Wonderland (Care Bears III, 1987) did have some cute songs by the wonderful John Sebastian. The title song, Rise and Shine, is cute and bouncy. Just what Grumpy Bears likes in the morning, huh! Courtesy cb82fan

80s animated soundtracks: Love Survives

All DOgs go to Heaven had that real and sad bits of life of classic Don Bluth films- no hiding behind faerie tale endings for the Disney defector. But the music was pure magic in all his films. From 1989, this is Love Survives sung by Irene Cara and Freddie Jackson. Courtesy Very rare(and not vinyl)vinyl tracks

80s animated soundtracks: Off to See the World

The Chipmunks starred in their very own animated adventure trying to go around the world on a treasure hunt with the Chippettes while Dave is out of town on business. As usual, hijinks ensued and there was plenty of good music. This was my favourite song from the 1987 film, The Chipmunk Adventure, Off to See the World. Courtesy Cletus Hunnicutt

80s animated soundtracks: I Have the Power

We’re going to do a little reminiscing about the great movie songs of the 80s. I’m not talking about Take My Breath Away (Top Gun) or Oh Yeah (Ferris Beuller’s Day Off), I’m talkin’ bout the sometimes totally sappy, sometimes completely rocking soundtrack features of the animated movies of the 80s. From cinematic features to TV specials, we’re gonna do a little rewind to some musical classics you might have forgotten starting with I Have the Power from He-man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword (1985).
