Sincerity in the Pumpkin Patch

If you grew up in the 80s and had a tv surely you spent part of Hallowe’en with Charlie Brown and Linus considering the sincerity of the pumpkin patch. What makes a patch sincere? No idea but here are some fun facts about the 60s special It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

1. In 2001 ABC cut the scene where Lucy yet again pulls a football out from under Charlie Brown. Good to see it’s been returned this year.

2. The little girl who voiced Sally in this special had a tooth coming out so her lines had to be done quickly. That tooth fell out as she said her last line.

3. There are perks to being a child actor. In the case of the child voicing Linus, he most liked the soda machine and having lots of lines.

4. In the special Charlie Brown keeps getting rocks for trick or treat. After the special aired kids sent ‘Charlie Brown’ candy via mail.
